If ever you get caught up in the Trump web and begin to believe his words about “the problem“, “making America great again“, “tremendous harm“, “tremendous danger“, “tremendous threat” or anything else “tremendous” please remember that he is first and foremost a salesman, and will use his last breath trying to sell you something.
Politifact stays on top of fact-checking what Politicians say, and boy howdy have they had an interesting time tracking the so-called “facts” that Donald Trump repeats in interviews, rallies, debates, on his website, and of course on Twitter. Here’s what they have reported:
ONLY two of Donald Trump’s statements have been proven as truth:
- The U.S. “doesn’t make television sets anymore”
- American polls shows that Russian President Vladimir Putin has “an 80% approval rating”
Trump has ONLY had 7 Mostly True statements and 16 Half-True statements.
And then comes the mostly-false and false statements, and the flat-out lies…
- Mostly-false statements total 19 (but I’m sure the number is even higher as of today)
- 46 false statements (once again…today the number is probably higher)
- 21 blatant lies [Politifact calls it “Pants on Fire” and by now, Trump has probably doubled this number]
Of the 21 blatant lies, let’s see how many of them (12 listed below) that you believed (or still believe) to be true:
- “I don’t know anything about David Duke” [he knew plenty about him to denounce him during this election cycle, and in 2000 when Trump wouldn’t seek the nomination of the Reform Party because of its ties to Pat Buchanon and David Duke, and Trump made several statements about Duke in 2000 and in 1991. Ironic, the same “hate” that Trump accused Duke of spewing in 1991 and 2000 is the same hate Trump is spewing now]
- “Don’t believe those phony numbers when you hear 4.9 and 5 percent unemployment. The number’s probably 28, 29, as high as 35. In fact, I even heard recently 42 percent.” [not even close Trump]
- A Trump television ad shows Mexicans swarming over “our southern border.” [the footage is actually of people in the country of Morocco]
- President Barack Obama “wants to take in 250,000 (people) from Syria.“[once again, not even close to truth]
- Says crime statistics show blacks kill 81 percent of white homicide victims. [the so-called source that Trump’s camp uses doesn’t even exist; and all of the statistics used in an ad are blatantly false]
- The federal government is sending refugees to states with governors who are “Republicans, not to the Democrats.” [The President doesn’t make this decision, private and faith-based groups do]
- The Trans-Pacific Partnership “was designed for China to come in, as they always do, through the back door and totally take advantage of everyone.” [This partnership might actually hurt not help China…and he wasn’t concerned about China when his clothing line was manufactured in China and sold in Macy’s]
- Says Bernie Sanders is going to “tax you people at 90 percent.” [Sanders actually targets the 1% not the 99%]
-
The number of illegal immigrants in the United States is “30 million, it could be 34 million.” [Researchers say that it’s only one-third of that number]
- Says President Barack Obama’s recent New York fundraising trip “cost between $25 million and $50 million.” [maybe Trump’s trips cost that much, but not POTUS]
- After the U.S.-led military alliance ejected Saddam Hussein’s forces from Kuwait in 1991, the Kuwaitis “never paid us.” [Kuwait paid $16 billion in war costs and the U.S. paid $7 billion]
- “The people that went to school with (Barack Obama), they never saw him, they don’t know who he is.” [fact check: Plenty of Obama’s classmates remember him, and some are still his friends and associates]
If this doesn’t open your eyes, maybe these two videos will help you see the truth about Trump the chump…
And then look at these two videos…
If that doesn’t wash your brain from Trump’s hard selling tactics, then you really may be a “lost cause” and so desperate that you will vote for any loud mouth who wants to “make America great again” or better yet who says, “I love the old days, you know? You know what I hate? There’s a guy totally disruptive, throwing punches. We’re not allowed to punch back anymore … I love the old days. You know what they used to do to guys like that when they were in a place like this? They’d be carried out on a stretcher, folks…”
